Driving from Hjerkinn to Oppdal

The journey starts in Hjerkinn, a small town with Hjerkinn train station on the left and County road Fv 29 to Folldal on the right. Driving north on European route E6, travelers are treated to magnificent landscapes and natural wonders.

As you ascend the mountains, you'll soon reach the highest point on Dovre mountain road, standing at an impressive elevation of 1026m / 3366ft above sea level. From here, you can catch a glimpse of the majestic Snøhetta mountain ahead. With a summit reaching 2286m / 7500ft asl, Snøhetta is not only the highest peak in the Dovre mountain plateau but also the 24th highest mountain in Norway.
